In the Science Labs, students and pupils from different educational levels can learn about higher education through hands-on study visits. Many of the labs also offer virtual visits, allowing participants to participate from afar without the time and expense of travel. The topics and methods of the study visits are designed to support teaching in line with the Finnish national curricula. The labs’ services are mostly free for teachers and students. During the visits, students aren’t the only ones getting new ideas about science. Teachers also receive ideas and tips for organizing their lessons. In this way, the study visits also support teachers\u2019 professional development.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Aalto University Junior organizes free-of-charge action-oriented study visits to all school groups from primary school through to upper secondary school. The service offers researchers an easy way to socialize. In particular, early-career researchers gain valuable experience as bridge builders between the research and school worlds.
