DESCRIPTION:Changing Seas: From the Arctic to the Mediterranean Climate Change Impacts on Coastal Cultures and Historical Legacies\nOctober 29-31th 2026 in Agios Nikolaos\, Crete\, Greece\nTCCF 2026 lands in Greece! This year\, we will go to Agios Nikolaos\, hosted by our partners from the University of Crete\, to understand the role of seas in shaping civilisations and the impacts of climate change on marine and coastal environments. From the Arctic to the Mediterranean\, climate-driven changes threaten cultural heritage\, historical legacies\, and coastal communities\, encouraging interdisciplinary approaches that connect climate science\, oceanic research\, history\, culture\, and education. We invite local and international teachers\, researchers\, and educators interested in participating on site\, in the beautiful Agios Nikolaos. \nThe international Teachers’ Climate Change Forum (TCCF) is organised by the University of Helsinki Science Education (a part of LUMA Centre Finland) and the Institute for Atmospheric and Earth System Research (INAR). \nRegistration & Program\nRegistration is open! SUMMARY:Tiedeilta Turussa: Tekoälyn taikaa
DESCRIPTION:Toiveuusinta keväältä 2024! \nMaaliskuussa 2024 pidetyn tekoäly-teemaisen Tiedeillan jälkeen meiltä toivottiin samaa teemaa mukaan myös uudestaan. Nyt tuo hetki on tullut\, ja pidämme käytännössä samanlaista settiä tälläkin kertaa. Jos siis et vielä pari vuotta sitten ollut Tiedeillloista kuullut tai tämä jäi sinulta jostain syystä välistä\, nyt on mahdollisuutesi päästä tutustumaan tekoälyn toimintaan! \nMarraskuussa lähdetään siis löytöretkelle koneoppimisen maailmaan! Mukana tutkijana on LUMAn oma matemaatikko Laszlo Major\, joka työskentelee myös tekoälyn parissa. Illassa paitsi pohditaan tekoälyn käsitettä ja merkitystä sekä nyky-yhteiskunnassa että tulevaisuudessa\, myös opitaan sen yksinkertaisimmista toimintaperiaatteista ja saatetaan kuulla myös tarinoita menneiltä ajoilta. \nMiten yksinkertainen tietokone voikaan olla? Illan aktiviteeteissa päästään rakentamaan munakennosta tehty ”tietokone”. Tule mukaan selvittämään\, pystytkö voittamaan rakentamasi koneen strategiapelissä. Pystyykö munakennokoneesi oppimaan siinä sinua paremmaksi? \nIlta pidetään tuttuun tapaan Natura-rakennuksen toisessa kerroksessa. \nMikäli sinulla on kotona ylimääräisiä 10-paikkaisia munakennoja\, ota niitä ihmeessä mukaan! Niitä tarvitaan tietokoneiden rakentamiseen. Yhden koneen rakentamiseeen tarvitsee kaksi kennoa.
