Changing Seas: From the Arctic to the Mediterranean Climate Change Impacts on Coastal Cultures and Historical Legacies

October 29-31th 2026 in Agios Nikolaos, Crete, Greece

TCCF 2026 lands in Greece! This year, we will go to Agios Nikolaos, hosted by our partners from the University of Crete, to understand the role of seas in shaping civilisations and the impacts of climate change on marine and coastal environments. From the Arctic to the Mediterranean, climate-driven changes threaten cultural heritage, historical legacies, and coastal communities, encouraging interdisciplinary approaches that connect climate science, oceanic research, history, culture, and education. We invite local and international teachers, researchers, and educators interested in participating on site, in the beautiful Agios Nikolaos.

The international Teachers’ Climate Change Forum (TCCF) is organised by the University of Helsinki Science Education (a part of LUMA Centre Finland) and the Institute for Atmospheric and Earth System Research (INAR).
