We organize science- and technology-themed camps for children and young people during the summer and school holidays. Most of the camps are in Finnish, but some are in English and Swedish too.
Summer 2025
Looking for fun activities for the summer? In 2025, LUMA Centres organized science and technology camps with themes such as nature, science, environment, mathematics, and programming. These camps offered children and young people the chance to learn new things, practice research skills, and make friends with others who shared their interests.
We will also organize summer camps in 2026. Details will be updated on this page early in the year, and most registrations will open at the beginning of March.
Magnificent materials
Seaweed hats, biodegradable glitter, and toilet paper foam! At Aalto University Junior’s summer camp, we explore natural raw materials, make bio-based materials, and design products for the future. The Magnificent Materials camp will inspire you to explore materials and is ideal for creative makers and science enthusiasts. The camp combines design, chemistry, and fun summer activities! At the end of the camp week, the materials created in the laboratory will be presented in an art exhibition, which parents are also welcome to attend. The camp fee also includes a copy of the ”Magnificent Materials” book. The English-speaking camp is for 1st-3rd graders.

- Paikka: Otaniemi Campus, Aalto univeristy
- Price: Five-day camps are 150€ and four-day camps are 120€. The price includes the camp program and a hot lunch.
