StarT LUMA: Collaborative project-based learning in STEAM education
How do I create a collaborative, project-based learning unit aligned with current research on the topic? How can I support my students’ meaningful learning in STEM / STEAM education? How can I use a project-based approach as a part of the curriculum?
The course StarT LUMA: Collaborative project-based learning in STEM education is designed to support teachers and educators (from pre-school education to upper secondary education) in doing all that. After the course, participants will
- be familiar with the StarT LUMA programme
- be familiar with the essential features of project-based learning
- know how to design PBL in STEM education
- have multiple PBL modules ready to be implemented
The course is a part of the StarT LUMA programme. It is organized by the University of Helsinki and LUMA Centre Finland, a network of Finnish universities with 20 years of experience in STEM education, in close collaboration with other international partners of the StarT LUMA programme.
The course consists of two modules. The first module contains the compulsory part of the course and is worth two ECTS credits (c. 50 h of work). The second module contains additional content from partners.
